Madrid. Single mother Manuela witnesses the death of her son on his 17th birthday, run over as he races to get an autograph from Huma Rojo, his favorite actress. Devastated, Manuela decides to travel to Barcelona in search of the boy’s father. Film will be screened in Spanish.
The evening opens at 20:45 with live music from La Prenda Roja. Influenced by artists like Camarón, Las Grecas and La Niña de los Peines, these three cantaoras present a daring vision of flamenco infused with urban and electronic sounds. They take inspiration from tradition to create songs that often take aim at society, on themes like female empowerment, freedom and beauty in all its forms.
A film in the 2025 edition of Sala Montjuïc. Doors open at 20:15, music begins at 20:45 and screenings begin at 22:00.
