Thylacine was founded in 2012 by William Rezé, who until then had worked as a saxophonist in various groups. Born in the French town of Angers, Rezé studied classical music and fine arts before taking a musical leap ten years ago delving into the field of electronic music. He draws inspiration for his compositions from his travels—for example, those aboard the Russian Trans-Siberian Railway, which led to his first album, Transsiberian (2015), or through Argentina in an Airstream caravan, journeys that culminated in Roads Vol. 1 (2019) and Roads Vol. 2 (2020).
