Film still from "Thom Browne: The Man Who Tailors Dreams" directed by Reiner Holzemer (Italy, Germany, 2024).
A portrait of pioneering American fashion designer Thom Browne, whose visionary reinvention of the tailored grey suit revolutionized fashion by challenging established notions of how men and women are expected to dress.
Every morning in front of his wardrobe, New York designer Thom Browne chooses his battle uniform: a very tight gray suit (shrunken, some would say), white shirt, tie, cardigan, schoolboy shorts, knee-high socks, and brogues. That theatrical allure carries over into his own label, with extravagant stagings that attract clients as varied as Walton Goggins, Michelle Obama, or Demi Moore (he also dressed FC Barcelona, incidentally). Beyond the eccentric proportions and the audacity of his pastiche tailoring, the documentary makes clear Browne’s masterful vision of subversive elegance in these dull, casual times.
Premiere in cinemas in Spain.
Film will be screened in original version with subtitles in Catalan .
