Actress Carmen Machi, best known for smash Spanish comedy film Ocho Apellidos Vascos (2014) and its 2015 sequel, stars in this thought-provoking satirical theatre piece set in the not-too-distant future. When the Spanish economy reaches an all-time low, the government sells off the country's most precious artwork to stay afloat. However when it comes to Las Meninas (1656) by Diego Velázquez, they hope to sell a copy, and task a nun to create a replica that can pass for the original. As she paints, her personality begins to change and she starts to question the work.
