A new proposal by pianist Jaume Vilaseca, professor at the Conservatori del Liceu, based on the music of the British band YES. Choosing the first repertoire of the group, from Close to the Edge (1972) to Going for the One (1977), he has filled some of these mythical pieces with sonorities, dialogues and jazz improvisations. That's why he has counted on creative and daring musicians from the Barcelona scene, all of them students and graduates of the Conservatori Superior del Liceu, who provide spontaneity and freshness in this "set list" of classic rock of the early seventies.
Already experienced in this style, after bringing the music of Genesis to jazz with three albums (Jazznesis I, II and III), and doing the same with Jazz & Parsons Project, Vilaseca has recorded an album that will be released in 2023, but that has already a solid and surprising live performance. An experience that does not disappoint and that recovers the past, to enjoy the present and the future with these young talents.
Talents Jazz at La Pedrera begins with a visit to the attic, where the interpretive space of Gaudí's work is located, followed by a concert on the rooftop—a distinctive site, where you can listen to live jazz in a unique and suggestive setting. Discover emerging jazz talent in this exceptional building and enjoy a magical night under the stars.
