Director Joanna Hogg draws from her own experience as a film student in 1980s London. The story is centered around Julie (played by Honor Swinton Byrne) who becomes entangled in a turbulent and destructive relationship with an older, charismatic but untrustworthy man named Anthony. Romantic disillusionment intertwines with artistic growth, to show the difficult process of a woman in search of her own voice.

The film was awarded the Grand Jury Prize in the World Cinema section at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival. See it as a part of the 2025 edition of Gandules Cinema in the Open Air.
