In 1987, he condensed some of the most famous passages and orchestral episodes from Wagner's Ring Cycle, repleted with leitmotifs, into a 90-minute arrangement.
This opera without words, originally written for the Berlin Philharmonic, will surprise many and fascinate many more thanks to the spell of Wagner's ageless music.
