The Origins of Modern Barcelona
Ateneu del Raval Reina Amalia 3, 08001 Barcelona

From Wednesday, December 19 to Thursday, January 10, you can visit the exhibition "ORIGINS of Modern Barcelona 1714-1860" at the Ateneu del Raval free of charge
A period of great changes, of transformation not only urban but socially and mentally: leaving behind the medieval and all its structure based on a hegemonic power of the nobility and the church. It was a city preparing for a great change, consolidated with the demolition of the walls: it was a city that looked more like a big prison.
Wars, occupations, popular uprisings, major urban and political reforms, characterize the period that you can go through in this exhibition in which you can see very interesting images in large format.
On Wednesday at 18:00, the opening day there will be a cocktail of honor.
This project is partially funded by the Department of Urban Ecology of the Barcelona City Council, the Associació de Amics del Ateneu del Raval, the Labideas - Social Coworking of the Ateneu del Raval.
