Since its release, The King’s Warden has been a cinematic phenomenon, exceeding expectations and establishing itself as one of the year's biggest commercial successes. With its majestic staging, captivating narrative pace, and a story marked by honor, betrayal and sacrifice, the film charmed both audiences and critics, demonstrating that historical cinema can combine spectacle, emotion and dramatic depth.

Amid hidden enemies, palace intrigues, and decisions that will change the fate of an entire nation, a young king is dethroned and exiled by his uncle to live in a village in Yeongwol, Gangwon Province. There, he finds true refuge, as well as understanding and friendship, among the villagers and, above all, its chief. Set against landscapes of extraordinary beauty and featuring visually elegant cinematography, The King’s Warden constructs an epic tale that maintains tension until its conclusion.

One of the cornerstones of the production's success is the performance of young actor Park Ji-hoon, who delivers a mature and nuanced performance, a departure from his earlier roles in K-dramas like Weak Hero. His on-screen presence carries the emotional weight of the story and confirms his ability to lead a large-scale production.
