This program explores the intimate everyday space of the home from unexpected viewpoints. Discover objects that seem to have a life of their own and many other surprises, including a teddy bear that changes size, a house flooded by a naughty little girl, moving sand figures and other strange creatures. We set out on journeys but, in the end, always return home.

Traveling Light (Jane Aaron, USA, 1985, 1:43)

Following the gentle path of light through its rooms, we see how the house is animated by a multitude of small movements.

The Enchanted House (La Maison Ensorcelée), Segundo de Chomón, France, 1907, 5:52)

In this mad house, strange things happen. Objects move by themselves, among other marvels. Segundo de Chomón (1871–1929) was an early Spanish filmmaker and a pioneer of animated film.

Le bateau de Léontine (Romeo Bosetti, France, 1911, 5:00)

Playing with her new toy boat, mischievous Léontine turns on the taps and floods the house, causing complete mayhem, but she simply carries on playing. Another film from over a century ago.

Transitional Object (Shayna Strype, USA, 2025, 7:02)

In this very recent film, we accompany a girl and her teddy bear through their tender relationship over time.

Horse in the House (Ló a házban, György Csonka, Hungary, 1976, 6:00)

In this Hungarian short film from the 1970s, with bright colors and absurd humor, a horse repeatedly escapes an investigator.

Le Château de sable / The Sand Castle (Co Hoedeman, Canada, 1977, 13:00)

Sand creatures build an ephemeral castle in the desert. This film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Short Film in 1977.

Pla y Cancela (Elena Duque, Spain, 2017, 2:41)

An apartment is inhabited by the memories of those who once lived there. A playful animation with lights, objects and the local and visiting ghosts of a house on Calle Pla y Cancela in A Coruña.
