Erpingham Camp
New English-speaking theatre collective, DustyApple, bring 'The Erpingham Camp' by Joe Orton to Barcelona's Teatre L'Enjolit.
'The Erpingham Camp' is based on Euripedes' 'The Bacchae', and has been described as Orton's 'most political play, an attack on organised religion and other institutions that seek to control and repress individuality and spontaneity'.
The play is set at the 'purest' holiday camp around and is run by Erpingham who regards his camp as an empire, and runs it accordingly. When holiday reps are challenged and campers revolt, reality as they know it is turned upside down.
The play is held at Teatre L'Enjolit on c/Portal Nou 30 baixos on November 29th and 30th, and December 1st. Doors open at 9.20pm and the performance will begin at 9.30pm.
Tickets are €7 in advance and €8 on the door. You can reserve tickets by posting your name and the date on their Facebook wall here.
