Neil Hannon is best known as the songwriter and driving force behind the band The Divine Comedy. Over twelve albums (and counting), his trademark orchestral pop, intelligent lyrics and legendary live shows have turned him into something of a national treasure. He rose to fame with Casanova (1996) and the hit single “Something for the Weekend,” followed by the iconic “National Express” in 1998. In 2022, the compilation Charmed Life: The Best of entered the UK Top 5, reaffirming his enduring popularity.
Beyond The Divine Comedy, Hannon has written music for theatre, film and classical ensembles, including the musical Swallows and Amazons, works performed by the Ulster Orchestra and songs for the films LOLA and Wonka.
