When Ditte Jensen retires with honors from the Danish Secret Service, she moves to an apartment block in Reykjavik, where she plans to tend to her garden and live her life in anonymity. But Ditte can’t help but be who she is: an elite soldier and a warrior. Soon, her building becomes a battleground for a better world. With her deep sense of justice, she sees her neighbors’ problems and feels compelled to help them, whether they like it or not. And in her world, the end justifies the means. Always.
Following the excellent film Woman at War, Icelandic director Benedikt Erlingsson continues his series of portraits of rebellious women, in a magnificent series with a charismatic protagonist brilliantly portrayed by actress Trine Dyrholm (Rematch). Straddling satire and social critique, this odyssey against the absurdities of society reminds us, once again, that you can’t judge a book by its cover.
The session will include a screening of the first two episodes (in original version with English and Catalan subtitles), with the presence of lead actress Trine Dyrholm, director and screenwriter Benedikt Erlingsson, and producers Marianne Slot and Carine Leblanc.
A screening in the 2025 edition of Serielizados Fest.
