La Batalla de Tetuan. Marià Fortuny. MNAC, 2012
The Battle of Tetuan
This exhibition is focused on the history and artistic development of The Battle of Tetuan, one of the most famous works by Marià Fortuny. The exhibition coincides with the 175th anniversary of Fortuny's death.
The epic clash between Moroccan and Spanish forces was painted by Fortuny between 1862 to 1864 and remains unfinished. The exhibition traces his creative process and also devotes a space to Dalí, who painted a version of Fortuny's work.
