Terrassa Jazz Festival 2026
to
JazzTerrassa Plaza Catalunya, 08232 Barcelona
Discover top figures from the domestic and international jazz universe in unpublished and exclusive productions in Catalunya. The festival includes a long list of side activities such as exhibitions, documentaries, children’s workshops, master classes, jam sessions and dance swing meetings.
The festival's commitment to stylistic variety, to capturing the pulse of contemporary trends in jazz, encouraging an international presence and supporting Catalan jazz are some of the secrets of its longevity.
The program combines big names, projects that welcome risk and voices that claim the popular legacy of the genre. On an international level, the Festival opens with Bluestorius, the project of Carles Benavent and Felix Pastorius, with Roger Mas and Toni Pagès, which reinterprets the musical heritage of Jaco Pastorius. It also celebrates the return to the Nova Jazz Cava stage of double bassist Dave Holland, who presents a duet format with Lionel Loueke in one of the most relevant performances of the edition. Contemporary and avant-garde jazz will also play a prominent role, with concerts by the Rising Sun Quartet, the new proposal by New York saxophonist Jon Irabagon, and Ches Smith’s Clone Row, where the Californian drummer explores the limits of current jazz language alongside musicians such as guitarist Mary Halvorson. These are two proposals that dialogue with the more neo-bop, but never without risk, view of the renowned trumpeter Dave Douglas, who presents his new album as a quartet. On a more classical level, pianist Francesca Tandoi, one of the new values of European jazz, will debut on the Terrassa stage betting on the trio format, while “Nit de Blues” presents the guitarist and singer Toronzo Cannon, recently arrived from Chicago.
