Award-winning pianist and composer Tamir Hendelman, a major voice in the Los Angeles jazz scene, brings his Paris-based trio to Jamboree for a night of exceptional music. Known for his dynamic touch, lyrical sensitivity and imaginative swing, Hendelman has been a member of the Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra since 2001 and has performed and recorded with giants such as Benny Golson, Barbra Streisand, Eddie Henderson, Natalie Cole, Sean Jones, Paul McCartney, Dee Dee Bridgewater and many more. His album Destinations reached number one on the US jazz charts, cementing his place as one of today’s leading pianists.
Oscar Peterson wrote of him: “It was a satisfying yet strange feeling to hear a new young voice make exhilarating and thoughtful solos in the spaces I used to occupy…”
For this special concert, Hendelman performs with long-time collaborators Nicola Sabato on bass and Alban Mourgues on drums for a night of virtuosity, swing and expressive storytelling.
