Film still from "También esto pasará" (This Too Shall Pass), directed by Maria Ripoll (Spain, 2025).
When her mother dies, Blanca has just turned forty. To escape her grief, she takes refuge in sex, with lovers, ex-husbands and any other one-night stands that might help her to forget. Unable to put her adult life as an “orphan” in order whilst stuck in the city, Blanca decides to travel to her mother’s house in the tiny fishing village of Cadaqués. Film will be screened in Spanish.
The evening opens at 20:45 with live music from Marta Garrett, a veteran of the European jazz scene whose music has evolved towards indie-pop. On her new album, Un a Un, the singer-songwriter presents new tracks reflecting this evolution. Today, her repertoire features Portuguese folk fused with jazz, accompanied by ethereal atmospheric sounds.
A film in the 2025 edition of Sala Montjuïc. Doors open at 20:15, music begins at 20:45 and screenings begin at 22:00.
