Spring is the time to celebrate the temps de maduixes (strawberry season), an outstanding annual gastronomic event in the Maresme, dedicated to the most emblematic red fruit of the territory. Restaurants, wineries and producers from 17 municipalities offer up surprising creations with strawberries as the star ingredient. From innovative combinations such as Maresme strawberry sauce with tortilla chips and strawberry gazpacho, to more delicate recipes such as prawn tartar with strawberries or duck breast with Maresme strawberry jam, local chefs challenge the curious and the most demanding palates, paired with wines and cava from the Alella DO.

Beyond the culinary scene, the month-long event allows visitors to discover the different varieties of this locally sourced fruit (alongside other local artisan goods) through direct sales from various Maresme producers at markets, festival and fairs.
