With more than two million albums sold, hundreds of millions of streams and a recognized career around the world, Stacey Kent returns to El Molino accompanied by saxophonist, composer and arranger Jim Tomlinson and pianist Art Hirahara to present Songs From Other Places: a delicate and evocative sound journey on the desire to escape, the belonging and transformative power of the journey.
This project was born during the harshest months of confinement, when the song "I Wish I Could Go Traveling Again"—composed by Tomlinson with Nobel Prize lyrics Kazuo Ishiguro—became the most sought after of his repertoire. What started as a distance recording became a record and, later, a successful international tour that now arrives in Barcelona.
In Songs From Other Places, Kent reinterprets pieces by Paul Simon, Jobim, Weil & Gershwin, Lennon & McCartney and Stevie Nicks, alongside original compositions by Tomlinson and Ishiguro.
