There are few objects that are as mysterious as monoliths. These imposing rock pillars appear before us as manifestations of an ancient culture to question our relationship with everything that surrounds us.

It should come as no surprise that Squid, perhaps the most enigmatic of the new British post-punk bands, have chosen this very symbol to christen their second album. O Monolith promises to cross the bright green fields that the band has always had on their horizon to show their most expansive profile, and the advance single "Swing (In a Dream)" dives into layers of sound without losing the edge that characterizes their discography.
