"Solitud" Film Screening
The greatest novel by Víctor Català brought to stage from Alicia Gorina’s perspective
“After passing through Ridorta they had come across a wagon going their way”... The start of Víctor Català’s best known work is an invitation to immerse oneself in the fascinating literary richness of Solitud, and foreshadows some of its big themes: landscape as a vocabulary to express existence, animality in the face of cultural and technical evolution, or time as human geography.
With her great mountain novel, Caterina Albert gave voice to one of the most exciting female characters created in Catalan literature. A journey of enormous vital intensity, marked by the magnetic discovery of desire, the raw learning of solitude and the lucid understanding of the pains that weigh upon the world.
The film to be screened is Solitud, by Romà Guardiet, 1991 and in original version (Catalan).
