Every year, the city of Lleida transforms into the gastronomic capital of snails during the iconic Aplec del Caragol, one of Spain’s most unique and celebrated food festivals. Known throughout Spain and Europe, this lively event is a joyful gathering open to everyone eager to experience authentic Catalan hospitality, cuisine and culture. Over three festive days, more than 12 tons of snails are consumed, prepared in a multitude of ways, from classic casseroles to the famous "caragols a la llauna"—snails grilled on a flat metal plate over open flames, seasoned and served with delicious, homemade allioli.

Enjoy a tasting area inside the festival grounds, concerts, street performances, human towers, traditional dances, parades and lively contests. Throughout multiple stages across the city, music from street bands and open-air dances  create a non-stop festive atmosphere open to all.
