Sheryl Youngblood is a powerhouse singer, drummer, songwriter and bandleader with a distinguished career in blues, gospel and soul. Born in the 1960s in Joliet, Illinois, she began her musical journey singing with The Tommies, a group that earned multiple awards, including a Grammy Award for gospel music and a Stella Award.
During this period, she also began playing drums and recorded as a session artist with renowned performers such as Otis Clay, Koko Taylor and the Koko Taylor Blues Foundation. She has shared the stage with legendary artists including Buddy Guy, John Primer, Bobby Rush and Maurice John Vaughn. In 2013, she founded the Sheryl Youngblood Blues Band. Since then, she has performed at iconic blues venues across Chicago and the United States, toured Europe and South America and appeared at the Chicago Blues Festival in 2023.
With a powerful voice and commanding stage presence, Sheryl Youngblood leaves no one indifferent. On her 2026 European tour, she will be joined by an electric band led by two internationally acclaimed musicians based in Spain: José Luis Pardo on guitar and TotaBlues on harmonica.
