Searching for Nika, Stas Kapralov (Spain, Ukraine, 2023)
When Russian forces invaded Ukraine and bombed Kiev, filmmaker Stas Kapralov's family dog Nika, ran away. Determined to find her, Stas immerses himself in the devastation and documents his journey while joining volunteers who help rescue animals. By becoming part of their cause, Stas records the volunteers as he continues searching for Nika, leading him to the Sirus animal shelter, the largest in Europe, which houses 3,500 animals and still receives wounded and hungry dogs every day. What begins as a journey motivated by his dog's disappearance becomes a mission to document and assist a humanitarian movement that rescues the largest number of animals in Ukraine.
Film will be screened in original version (Ukrainian, Russian) with subtitles in English and Catalan.
