ScannerFM: Cultura de Base

Tune in on December 3rd at 8:00pm CET for the the premiere of the program "Cultura de Base," broadcast live from El Café Rock and Roll in the Gràcia neighborhood on ScannerFM.com. The program is presented by host Carlos Medina and American singer-songwriter Tori Sparks.

Inspired by ScannerFM’s popular Discoforum program, but adapted to the COVID-19 era, Cultura de Base  (or “grassroots culture”) seeks the conversation, opinion and interaction of members of the music and culture scene in a roundtable discussion format, while always respecting the security measures of the coronavirus. Musicians, technicians, journalists, promoters and others will talk about how the pandemic is affecting their lives, their careers, their current projects and their plans for the future.

The name of the program reflects the intention of analyzing real situations that affect people involved in the grassroots culture and the local scene. Apart from the two presenters — representing the perspective of professional artists and musicians, and the world of radio, respectively —  journalist Nando Cruz, promoter and publicist Eneida Fever, sound engineer and producer Andrés Giraldo, and the owner and booker of Café Rock an Roll itself, Begoña Pe, will form a parte of the conversation (in Spanish).
