Sarsuela - Songs of love and war
For those who don't know, a sarsuela (zarzuela in Castillian), is a type of musical theatre which first began in the royal hunting lodge, the Palacio de la Zarzuela, near Madrid, dating back as far as 1630.
This September, Catalan company +Sarsuela, is bringing one of the most iconic works from the Catalan sarsuela movement, Cançons d'amor i guerra, to the stage. Composed in 1926, it originally suffered censorship under the Primo de Rivera dictatorship, but this time it will be performed completely unabridged.
Tickets start at €25 and the performance will last two hours and ten minutes in total. For more information or to buy tickets click here.
