The Festa de la Sal grew out of the traditional Pentecost Fair, a multi-sector exhibition that began in 1947 and has evolved throughout the years alongside the social, cultural and economic fabric of the environment.
The Salt Festival has four pillars: culture in the streets, commerce and crafts, gastronomy and heritage, turning Cardona into an explosion of vitality and a tribute to the history of this historic town!
The festival fills the weekend with non-stop musical performances, theatre, dance and circus, on three stages in Cardona's historic center. You'll have the chance to visit the most spectacular salt crystals you have ever seen, take a guided tour through the historic center, attend wine tastings and coking demonstrations, and buy local artisan delicacies and handmade crafts at the market.
