Enchanté

This musical transports you back to 20th-century Paris, when the nation is on the brink of a German invasion and music is a form of escapism. With pianist and clarinetist accompaniment, the female trio, Divinas, tell the intriguing story of Café Enchanté—a Parisian café that acts as a hub for intellectuals, bohemians, artists and members of the French Resistance. Humour and political satire feature alongside glamour and burlesque cabaret. The performance also pays tribute to the Franco-American dancer, Josephine ‘The Black Pearl’ Baker, who was part of the French Resistance during the war as well as an advocate for black civil rights. The musical is in Spanish, although songs are in English, French and German.
