Sala Montjuïc hosts one of Barcelona's most popular open-air, cinema festivals with a lineup packed with award-winning modern and classic films.

This year's edition opens with Flowers for Antonio  (Spain, 2025) directed by Elena Molina and Isaki Lacuesta, it's a restrained and moving exercise in love and memory. Other films in the lineup include Chloé Zhao's Hamnet (UK, 2025), an intimate and moving film that portrays the private life of William Shakespeare; Isabel Coixet's Three Goodbyes (Italy, 2025), a love letter to life, full of sensitivity and tenderness; the Coen Brothers' classic flick Fargo (USA, 1996), a film of murders and absurd humor, featuring a magnificent performance by Frances McDorman; and Ridley Scott's landmark feminist film Thelma & Louise (USA, 1991), a fun and fresh road movie, starring the iconic Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis, and many more!

Films are shown on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Each evening opens with a local group with everything from jazz and swing to flamenco. Deck chairs are available to hire for those who want more comfort than a picnic blanket can offer. You are welcome to bring your own picnic and there is a bar on site as well. Films are shown in their original language with Spanish or Catalan subtitles. Tickets are €9.00, €12.00 with a deck chair. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online only via the festival website. Doors open at 20:15, music begins at 20:45 and screenings begin at 22:00.
