The St. Stephen’s Concert is one of the oldest Christmas traditions in Europe. Born in 1913, it brings together all the formations of the choral family of the Orfeó Català. Lately, it has been common to present a joint program around a specific theme, which this year is "world peace." As usual, there will be arrangements of the Christmas carols and premieres of the guest composers, as is the case of Marc Timón.
Marc Timón belongs to the generation of those born and raised in the golden age of George Lucas, who created the first Star Wars trilogy with music by John Williams. He is able to write an epic poem for the whole family at the Orfeó Català, which since its release two years ago at the Sant Esteve Concert, has become its ideal ending. For this reason and for his productive life and career, Marc Timón is a guest composer at the Palau de la Música Catalana this season.
