Saint Petersburg Ballet and Orchestra presents Giselle. Set in rural Germany in medieval times, Giselle's story is inspired by the work Del Allemagne that Heinrich Heine wrote in 1835.
This piece, released in 1841 at the Paris Opera, is an absolute masterpiece of romantic ballet and is considered a fundamental work of classical dance both for the treatment of romantic ideals and for the use of the most refined theater technique of the eighteenth century.
The St. Petersburg Ballet Festiva was founded in 2011 by Maxim Zhuchin with the great influence of the famous choreographer Nikolai Boyarchikov, who for many years held the position of artistic director of the Mikhailovsky Theater in St. Petersburg. Currently the St. Petersburg Ballet Festival has a cast of young talented dancers.
