For all the lovers of Indian music and culture! It kicks off October 2 and lasting through the weekend at various locations. See the event website for the full program and details.
Presented by Nupura Centre for Indian Performing Arts
Join a unique weekend of concerts, tabla, vocal and kathak dance workshops dedicated to the richness of Indian classical arts and the timeless values that inspire artistic excellence. As part of the celebration of Gandhi Jayanti, the Nupura community in Barcelona brings together acclaimed artists from India alongside locals for three days of music, rhythm, learning and cultural exchange. Whether you are a musician, a dancer, a student of the arts, or simply someone who enjoys listening to beautiful music, this weekend has something to offer you.
At the heart of the celebration is Satya, a special concert featuring renowned Hindustani classical vocalist Amol Nisal, accompanied by Amit Mishra on tabla and Anik Mishra on sarangi, together with performances by the Nupura Kathak Ensemble directed by Shreyashee Nag. The weekend also offers a series of immersive workshops designed for those who wish to deepen their understanding and experience of Indian classical arts—from vocal music and tabla to a unique Kathak intensive with live musical accompaniment.
Through music, rhythm, dance and lots of discussions, the entire weekend is also a reflection of the values of Gandhiji—the path of truth (Satya), dedication to one’s work (Sadhana), selfless effort and surrender without attachment to results ( Samarpan) and the sense of completeness that comes from love, humility, and service to humanity (Sampurna)
