Ryoichi Kurokawa
to
CaixaForum Barcelona Av. de Francesc Ferrer i Guàrdia 6-8, 08038 Barcelona

Kurokawa's works take many forms, including installation works, recordings and concert pieces. In this evening, he presents Subassemblies, a constantly updated project that pursues the relationship between nature and man-made through an architectural scale perspective. The impressive images on the main screen together with the surround lighting and 4.1 sound of this show make it easy for us to immerse ourselves in the peculiar world of the Japanese artist, where ruins, buildings invaded by nature and architecture in poor condition overlap and are rebuilt. The multi-layered depth broadens the perception of floating not only between nature and the man-made, but also between abstract and concrete phenomena through their transition, destruction and rebirth.
Before Ryoichi Kurokawa's performance, there will be a DJ set with Selectya Glossy, behind the decks of the visual artist Sara V. Mallo, in the CaixaForum cafeteria. She will give free rein to her passion for global bass and captures her ability to move between organic and digital sounds, between luminous atmospheres and dark landscapes.
