Ronald Baker, one of the great trumpeters of recent generations of American musicians in the diaspora, returns to Barcelona.
Born in Baltimore in 1968, Baker has achieved the status of worthy successor to the best trumpeters and singers. With six solo albums released, his style has been compared to Chet Baker, Roy Eldridge and Miles Davis. As a singer, his voice recalls the velvety, rhythmic style of Al Jarreau and George Benson. Apart from his solo career, Baker has worked for Big Joe Turner, Ricky Ford, Jesse Davis and Ignasi Terraza. He has performed at the Jamboree several times He currently tours with the Michele Hendricks Septet, Liz McComb Brassland and his own quintet, which has been active for over 22 years. In addition, he has been teaching at a private jazz school for 13 years.
Tony Match is a French drummer, musical director and music producer. For over twenty-five years, he has worked with the world’s best jazz musicians, both as a music producer, musician and musical director. From Fred Wesley, Pee Wee Ellis, Ernie Watts, Scott Hamilton and Paul Jackson (The Headhunter) to Richard Galliano or Rick Margitza, Tony participates in many projects involving jazz, soul and funk icons such as Martha High or Denise King. He has also performed with Omar, Vanessa Haynes (Incognito), Randy Brecker, Lionel Loueke, Flavio Boltro, Ulf Wakenius, and has composed with Flora Purim and Mozez (Zero7), to name a few. Tony Match has composed, produced and mixed over two hundred tracks for major and independent labels, including albums for Deutsche Grammophon and Universal.
