For the first time, the singer-songwriter revisits the complete repertoire of the two albums he recorded and performed with one of the most innovative “cobla” (sardana orchestra) ensembles. A combination of original pieces and great songs in a musical celebration that looks towards the future. 

Fifteen years have passed since Roger Mas and the Cobla Sant Jordi began working together, adapting the artist’s songs for cobla. Now they will be appearing at the Barcelona Grec Festival to reprise the pieces they have performed together over the years. But this is not a nostalgic look back at the past. Quite the opposite: it is a doorway to the future and, at the same time, a joyful musical celebration full of humor.

Roger Mas, born in 1975, began making music at the age of twelve, and explored world music with Luis Paniagua. In 1996 he won the Catalunya Ràdio Award, which marked the beginning of his career as a singer and composer. He has released twelve albums that have made him a leading figure in Catalan song, including well-known titles such as "Les flors del somni," "Les cançons tel·lúriques," "Parnàs" and "Totes les flors." 

The Cobla Sant Jordi-Ciutat de Barcelona sardana orchestra was founded in 1983. It plays concert music for cobla in programs that include well-known works, forgotten pieces and newly created music, while also exploring the full musical potential of the cobla tradition. The ensemble has released numerous cobla repertoire recordings, as well as albums such as Amargós & Vidal: dues visions contemporànies de la cobla (2010) and a record with the Roussillon musician Pascal Comelade, in addition to recordings with singer-songwriter Roger Mas.
