Could humans, in the near future, enhance themselves instead of succumbing to the natural process of ageing? If so, how will this reshape society, and how might it redefine what it means to be human?
Bioengineering pioneer Robert Langer and writer Jorge Volpi discuss the future and impacts of biomedicine. Nanorobots, lab-grown organoids, pig-to-human organ transplants, and personalized medicine are no longer confined to the realm of science fiction — they have entered the world of scientific research and, in some cases, medical practice. Currently, these innovations offer promising treatments for various diseases. However, they may soon be used to slow down aging or replace organs that deteriorate over time.
Event will be held in Spanish and Catalan.
