MC, producer and entrepreneur Rincón Sapiência is a leading artist on the Brazilian music scene. In 2017, he released Galanga Livre, his debut album, which made the list of the 50 best Brazilian music albums of 2017 by the Paulista Art Critics Association (APCA) and won two Superjury trophies at that year's Multishow Awards. The award also earned him the title of Revelation of the Year, reinforced by his selection as Artist of the Year by the APCA and the choice as best album of the year by Rolling Stone Brazil magazine. Sapiência worked on the promotion of the album in Brazil and abroad, a period in which he also reaffirmed his artistic versatility in musical partnerships with Sidney Magal, Alice Caymmi, Rubel, Drik Barbosa and IZA. In 2018 he launched his own independent music label, called MGoma, betting on his recognition as one of the most respected music producers on the scene. In November 2019, Rincón released Mundo Manicongo: Dramas, Danzas y Afroreps, his long-awaited second career album, produced and directed entirely by him.
