American Rex Richardson and Valencian David Pastor represent the very best of jazz trumpet—and jazz in general—on an international scale.

Richardson is a renowned performer with a career that includes participation in legendary ensembles such as Rhythm & Brass, Joe Henderson’s quintet, and William Russo’s Chicago Jazz Ensemble. Considered “one of the best virtuosos of our time” (Brass Herald), he has also played with figures such as Benny Carter, Ray Charles, Kurt Elling, Aretha Franklin, and many more. Richardson has recorded nine solo albums as well.

As for Pastor, he is one of the great jazz musicians on the Spanish scene. His resume includes collaborations with some of the most important artists of our time—from Celia Cruz to Jorge Pardo, including Clark Terry, Mike P. Mossman, Paquito D’Rivera, Chris Cheek and  Santiago Auserón—and a brilliant solo career. The evening will be a high-flying encounter, an explosion of sounds in the company of a top-notch rhythm section.
