Les Chambres Rouges, Pascal Plante (Canada, 2023)
Ludovic Chevalier is a serial killer infamous for murdering three underage girls and uploading the videos online. Two young women attend his trial: a groupie who believes in Ludovic’s innocence and Kelly-Anne, morbidly obsessed with unclear intentions. As the courtroom drama unfolds, both women are engulfed in intense emotions, with Kelly-Anne delving into her own investigation, further testing her mental boundaries.
In Les Chambres Rouges, Canadian filmmaker Pascal Plante, whose Nadia, Butterfly was screened during the Americana Film Festival in 2021, takes us on a chilling journey, along with its protagonist, into the darkest corners of the human mind. Intense, macabre, and horrifying yet utterly fascinating, the film shocks and captivates simultaneously. It explores the chilling obsession with evil, leaving us unable to look away from a story that both unsettles and engrosses.
Film will be screened in original version with subtitles in Catalan on March 8th and in Spanish on March 10th.
