Matthew Randal Greer IV was born in 1960 in San Francisco. Grandson of Duke Ellington’s famous drummer Sonny Greer, he was “baptized” by Charlie Mingus at his parents’ Soulville club. Although he is a jazz musician, his voice inspiration comes from Nat King Cole, exuding a romantic tone and plenty of swing, and other greats like Cab Calloway, Stevie Wonder, and Ella Fitzgerald.
In 1991, Greer and Terraza came together for the first time on stage, sharing their admiration and respect for the great Cole. Today, after different projects together, including versions of Christmas carols, they have decided to return to Cole’s music in the company of Horacio Fumero and Josep Traver. A set of timeless pieces in the hands of Greer and Terraza sound more contemporary than ever.
Make sure you don't miss this fantastic and thrilling performance at Jamboree Jazz Club!
