The Punch Trio’s project Jazz Against the Strings continues to explore the expressive possibilities of string instruments, diving into an unpublished repertoire within gypsy jazz without losing the raw energy of this style born in 1930s Europe. On this occasion, joined by pianist Alejandro Esperanza, they present an uncommon formation that pays tribute to legendary hard bop pianists such as Horace Silver and Duke Pearson, weaving a lively dialogue between two musical worlds: jazz manouche and hard bop.
