Bjork
Icelandic songstress Björk is one of the headliners at this year's Primavera SoundBeer-maker San Miguel sponsors the annual music-fest that is Barcelona's Primavera Sound, with an enormous line-up over the five day run, that includes some big international names, along with lots of indie up-and-comers and various local groups.
Björk, Franz Ferdinand, Marianne Faithfull, Saint Etienne, The Cure, Rufus Wainwright - just a smattering of those headlining at Primavera Sound 2012, and collectively they represent about one percent of those actually playing at the festival. If the indie scene is more your, er, scene, Death Cab for Cutie, The xx, Yo La Tengo and Chairlift are amongst those artists likely to keep you happy, while Xavier Baró, L'Hereu Escampa and Villarroel provide Catalan sounds for those who want to remember they're not just in some generic international music festival.
Alongside the paid-for concerts, you can enjoy free music at the Arc de Triomf and the little ones can get involved with the minimúsica programme.
From May 3rd, tickets for the full event cost €195 if bought in advance; on the door, they'll cost €199. Day tickets cost €80 in advance, €85 on the door.
