On Catalan National Day, The Parliament, Generalitat and many other buildings are open to the public for visits to commemorate September 11.
For those who want to visit the pillars of Catalan politics, on September 11 the Palau de la Generalitat, the seat of Catalan government in Plaça de Sant Jaume, and the Parliament of Catalonia are holding an open house from 10:00 to 19:00.
The BCN Tricentenary is also involved in the National Day celebrations with open days at various municipal museums and centers, where you can visit exhibitions to mark the 300th anniversary of the events of 1714. At the Museu d’Història de Barcelona you can see The World in 1714 and Urban Monasteries in Times of War. Sant Pere de les Puel•les and Santa Clara de Barcelona. 1691-1728. The Museu Frederic Marès is opening up two exhibitions as well: A Look at 1700. Through the Engravings in the Gelonch Viladegut Collection and Rafael Casanova. The Popularisation of a Sculptural Monument. The Born Centre Cultural is joining in by offering free access to its exhibitions: The Barcelona of 1700. From the Stones to the People and Until We Prevail! The Siege of 1714. And the Barcelona Photographic Archives offers free admission to the exhibition With regard to September 11.
There will also be open days at city museums like the MHC, Museu d’Història de Catalunya, the MAC, Museu d’Arqueologia de Catalunya and the MNAC, Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.
