This year's eclectic program includes music, dance, poetry, presentations, days of reflection and all kinds of artistic expressions aimed at a broad audience and presented in spaces of great historical richness and natural beauty. This year's lineup includes La Helen, Anna Ferrer, Dafnis Balduz & Anna Borrego, Pau Vallvé, Judit Neddermann, Joan Dausà and many more.
Portalblau is a unique festival, singular for the beauty of the surrounding environment and for the settings where its cultural activities take place. All events take place in spaces of high value and historical interest: the imposing Fòrum Romà d'Empúries, an historic meeting point, full of life and the nerve center of the Roman city; the Cementiri Mariner, declared a Cultural Asset of National Interest; and the recently renovated Clos del Pastor building, declared a Cultural Asset of Local Interest. All these spaces tell of the importance of the landscape as an indispensable part in social and cultural evolution; they represent the gateway of Greek and Roman culture to the Iberian Peninsula and the richness of the Mediterranean culture as a result of constant exchange.
The Portalblau Festival was born in summer 2008 in the village of L’Escala. Throughout all its editions, it has offered a wide range of high-quality cultural proposals and has counted with the participation of artists from all over the world.
Sensitive to the current situation and culturally and socially committed, the Festival will carry out a series of events to promote social and environmental values. The Festival seeks to create new audiences and discover new talent with a strong commitment to emerging local artists.
