While he avoids the label, Philip Glass' music is a great universal example of piano minimalism. The Philip Glass Ensemble, directed by Micheal Riesman, is the group that has been carrying its music around the world for more than five decades after it was founded in 1968.

Philip Glass is one of the most influential composers of the 20th Century, and although he is no longer usually present at the group's concerts, the essence of the musician still remains in the ensemble's repertoire.
