The fourth edition of Petit Mercat de Mercats arrives at the Plaça del Poeta Boscà to promote municipal markets, encourage local and high-quality products, highlight local gastronomy, and revitalize the neighborhood. Petit Mercat de Mercats is an initiative promoted by the Barcelona City Council, through the Barcelona Municipal Markets Institute (IMMB), with the intention of bringing the essence of the Mercat de Mercats fair—held in October—to the neighborhoods, fostering a close connection between the markets and their surroundings.
To strengthen the connection between the fair and the market, a barbecue area will be set up where the public can cook and enjoy fresh products purchased directly from the stalls, such as meat, fish and vegetables. This fosters interaction with the merchants from the purchase of the product to the tasting in a festive and friendly atmosphere.
In addition to tasting the market's products, Petit Mercat de Mercats features workshops and cooking demonstrations alongside live music and DJ sessions.
