1977: EL BREVÍSIMO VERANO DE LA ANARQUÍA
to
Palau de La Virreina la Rambla 99, Barcelona

Barcelona has had a tumultuous past full of rebels and defenders, wealth and poverty, a dictator and a civil war. It should then be no surprise that anarchy flourished here like in few other cities. Although many tried, none could silence the movement or stop it from leaving its mark on the city.
Now, La Virreina Centre de la Imatge presents a talk about the impact of the anarchist movement, drawing on more than 100 years of investigative research by its social project The Observatory of Everyday Life (OVQ).
The talk will focus on the year 1977, when two key anarchist conventions took place in the city and anarchy reached a peak. The talk will be accompanied by iconic photographs and graphics from the time, which were published to promote the cause.
The talk begins at 7pm in Virreina Lab. Admission is free but space is limited. More information here.
