The Musica Boscareccia ensemble, created by soprano Alicia Amo and violinist Andoni Mercero, is primarily dedicated to the interpretation of the chamber vocal repertoire between the 17th and 19th centuries.

Arianna a Naxos is the title of the cantata that Haydn composed in 1789, originally with keyboard accompaniment. This piece was a hit in London at the concerts of 1791 and soon became one of Haydn's most popular works. Perhaps this is why Haydn, in a letter to the editor John Blair, expressed his intention of producing a version for strings. This program offers the version for voice and string quartet of this piece, as well as lieder by Schumann and Schubert arranged for the same formation.
