Barts Club Avinguda del Paral·lel 62, 08001 Barcelona

Maceo Parker, one of the most emblematic jazz musicians of our time, will perform live in the intimate setting of Sala BARTS. Across several decades, Parker has shaped the course of modern music with his innovative approach to the saxophone, which gave new meaning to the term ‘groove’. Born in North Carolina in 1943, Parker took great inspiration from Ray Charles. He performed with funk legend James Brown in the Sixties, and spent the Seventies as a member of the funk and soul collective Parliament-Funkadelic, before embarking on a solo career in the Nineties. Although in his mid-70s, the musician continues to tour the world’s jazz festivals, which brings him to Barcelona, where he will form part of the Voll-Damm International Jazz Festival line-up.
