Chambao
to
Palau de la Música Catalana C/ Palau de la Música 4-6, 08003 Barcelona

Formed in Malaga, with a name that means an improvised beach tent, Chambao first made an impression in 2002 when they debuted six tracks on the Sony compilation album Flamenco Chill, a title that both aptly describes their sound and doesn’t quite capture it. Also frequently described as ‘Flamenco-jazz’, the group fuses traditional Andalusian vocal elements with electronic chillout sounds, and they have also combined African and Mexican influences into their beats. The driving force for the band is charismatic vocalist Lamari, the only original group member, whose passionate delivery and appreciation of her audience always leaves the crowd dancing. This December the group will play at Palau de la Música Catalana and promise to combine a mix of beloved anthems and catchy new grooves from their album, Nuevo Ciclo (2016).
Doors open at 8.30pm and tickets are from €18.
